Special K Cookies

When my grandma would make these - she would sit sheets of waxed paper on her washer and dryer to let them harden. Then she would place the cookies in this orange Tupperware container. She also made a mean pimientos cheese spread and used this container to store it - I will have to post that recipe sometime. I love that I have this container along with many other wonderful things of hers.

1 cup sugar
1cup white corn syrup
12 ounce jar peanut butter (smooth
4 cups Special K cereal

Combine sugar and syrup in a small pot. Boil for one minute. Take out of pot and place in a bowl. Add peanut butter. Add cereal. Drop from a teaspoon onto waxed paper. Let cool.

I have my grandmother's dutch oven. It even has the red lincoln log my grandfather used to replace the original handle! I love it!

I would love to see it! I am so glad you have that as a reminder of both of them.

I just came back to look at this recipe. You made a huge mistake sending those home with me!! BTW...Xavier didn't realize how much you liked to cook until last night.

Do you think the pimento spread added to the flavor of the container?! My grandmother had a certain coffee cup she used when making stacked enchiladas. She would use it to scoop the chili out of the pot and onto the tortillas when assembling them. We used to joke that the flavor was in the cup because no one else could make the chili the same way!
